• Continued emphasis on STEM initiatives to foster future aerospace talent.

• Investment includes 'World's Oldest Youth Club' to empower young people from inner-city London.

LONDON, February 22, 2024 – Boeing (NYSE: BA) has announced a charitable grant package of over £430,000 for 12 non-profit organisations across the United Kingdom, including two new charity partners for 2024.

"We are pleased to unveil funding for Primary Engineer, a national organisation dedicated to integrating engineering education into primary schools, and St Andrew’s Youth Club, which equips young individuals for life through their Youth Development Programme, providing a sense of belonging and developing confidence for the future," said Maria Laine, president for Boeing in the UK, Ireland & the Nordic region. "These organisations embody our commitment to shaping a brighter future, promoting social inclusion and fostering stronger communities. Through our strategic charitable partnerships, we aim to support their invaluable work and create a lasting impact on those who need it most."

“As the oldest Youth Club in the world, St Andrew’s has a proud history of providing young people with the opportunities to develop and thrive. We are delighted that Boeing is helping to fund St Andrew’s Youth Development Programme, supporting young people to learn essential employment skills, access practical work experience and contribute to their community,” said Patricia Marron, Head of Fundraising, St Andrew’s Youth Club.

Boeing will continue its collaboration with The Prince’s Trust, marking the eighteenth year of support for the Get Started programme, which empowers young individuals to develop digital skills. For the Royal Academy of Engineering, 2024 will witness a transition to their ‘This is Engineering’ programme, building upon the success of previous initiatives that have already benefited over a million students through engaging them in STEM subjects.

Boeing's funding for gliding scholarships with the Air League and Flying Scholarships for Disabled People will break down barriers to entry into the aviation industry, advancing accessibility for all.

Boeing's contributions to Golddigger Trust and Outfit Moray will provide crucial mental health and well-being resources for young people, while also offering skills development opportunities across Yorkshire and Moray. These efforts are in addition to Boeing's established support for the Royal Aeronautical Society’s educational and early-career initiatives, aimed at enhancing diversity in the aerospace talent pool.

The community investment package also includes donations to organisations that assist veterans in transitioning to civilian life and support families of serving personnel. For a fifth year, Boeing supports SSAFA, the armed forces charity, by sponsoring a mentoring program for new service leavers and through the Boeing Crisis Fund, enabling local SSAFA caseworkers to provide emergency response to individuals with a service connection. Additionally, Boeing takes pride in backing Aerobility, a charity that offers flying lessons to aviation enthusiasts with disabilities. Funding towards The Open University Disabled Veterans’ Scholarships Fund will continue to provide disabled veterans with the opportunity to pursue further education and retraining through a free distance learning resource.

Through these powerful community investments, Boeing and its employees are making a lasting and meaningful impact and forging groundbreaking partnerships and programs that align with our global strategic objectives. More information on Boeing's global engagement strategy can be found here.
