Our apprenticeship programme

We currently have over 50 apprentices at various sites around the UK, working across four disciplines:
Aircraft maintenance
We partner with International Centre for Aviation Training (ICAT), to train our apprentices to be competent to work on live aircraft. Aircraft maintenance apprentices work towards the Engineering Technician Standard – Level 3.
The three year apprenticeship consists of:
- Year one: Working towards Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification and completion of Level 2 Foundation Competence Qualification at ICAT. Accommodation is provided during this time.
- Years two and three: Working towards Level 3 Development Competence qualification and completion of Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification, with on the job training at one of our sites, which may include: MoD Boscombe Down, AAC Middlewallop, RAF Odiham, RAF Brize Norton, RAF Lossiemouth and London Gatwick.
Aircraft fabrication
Working with the AMRC in Sheffield, apprentices in aircraft fabrication become fully qualified machinists, producing actuation parts for commercial aircraft at our Boeing Sheffield factory.
During the apprenticeship you will be trained in all disciplines of machining, including milling and turning along with general hand fitting skills. A range of cutting edge equipment is used to produce parts, including operating complex machines.
Flight services
We partner with Crawley College to train apprentices to become technicians to maintain pilot flight simulators at our Crawley training campus.
The two-year apprenticeship consists of:
- Three weeks induction into simulator maintenance.
- Six months on shift working on basic maintenance tasks, followed by three months intensive training on simulator specifics.
- On the job training, alongside an apprentice NVQ and an Engineering HNC on day release at college.
Our graduate programme
Graduates at Boeing are considered future leaders and managers. We invest in your development because we recognise the benefits of growing talent through our graduate programme into the company.

Our graduate programme is a two-year scheme. You can apply to work in the following areas: finance, supply chain, project management, engineering or IT. Placements are rotational, giving you experience in different areas at different sites for six months at a time.
Once you’ve completed the programme, you have the opportunity to move into a permanent role. We will work with you to find a role which fits your career aspirations and will help to drive the business forward.
During the graduate programme and beyond, we will support you in your pursuit of professional qualifications, such as:
- Finance – CIMA or ACCA
- Supply Chain – MCIPS
- Project Management – APM or PRINCE2
- Engineering – CEng
Our internship programme
We offer three or 12-month internship placements. The programme offers meaningful placements that benefit the business and the individual. Throughout the internship programme, we provide learning and development to help prepare for the next stage of your career, whether that’s our graduate programme, an entry level role or further education.
We recruit a number of interns each year and have opportunities in finance, project management, engineering, IT, government affairs, communications, supply chain, advanced technologies cyber, continuous improvement and sales and marketing. Meet one of our interns.
Recruitment and selection
All applications are reviewed and selections are made depending on qualifications and experience. If you’re selected, you will first be invited to an informal telephone conversation about yourself and why you’ve applied for the role.

If you’re successful, you will be invited to an engagement session. We understand everyone has different strengths, so will use a variety of exercises to get to know you, including team skills, written skills and interviews and presentations.
You can expect to hear feedback and the result of your application within two weeks of the engagement session.
We recruit for apprenticeship programmes throughout the year. Apprenticeship openings can be found on our careers site.
We recruit for our internship and graduate programmes between October to February each year and jobs are listed on our careers site.
