• Boeing Sponsors British Military Tournament 2013

LONDON, United Kingdom,  September 05, 2013 - Boeing [NYSE: BA] is once again the lead sponsor of the British Military Tournament, which raises money for three key charities that support British servicemen and women and their families.

The 2013 Tournament will be held 7-8 December at Earl’s Court, London. The money raised will go toward ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

“The British Military Tournament is now in its fourth year, and Boeing is delighted to be able to support these valuable charities as they support the men and women who have served their country,” said David Pitchforth, managing director of Boeing Defence UK. “We are especially proud to be part of this event in support of those who have served and their families in Boeing’s 75th year of partnership with the United Kingdom.”

The British Military Tournament is an exciting visual extravaganza that showcases the best of the British Armed Forces, and this year’s event promises to live up to the high standards audiences have come to expect.

“British Legends” is the theme of this year’s Tournament, which will feature dramatic reenactments and daring stunts by 500 participants, as well as more than 100 horses and two camels. Also participating are live bands from the Marines, the Royal Air Force and the Army, plus the Royal Signals’ White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team. Members of the audience will get a chance to meet with serving sailors, soldiers and airmen, and view an Apache helicopter and scale-model Chinook helicopter, among other military equipment at the show.
