Boeing Sponsors British Military Tournament 2012
September 11, 2012 - Imagine a Falklands veteran, suffering from post-traumatic stress, who needs a new home. Or a soldier returning from Afghanistan who needs additional rehabilitation to learn how to use his new prosthetic legs. Or a mother who is raising two small children on her own because their daddy isn’t coming home from overseas.
Now imagine these people without the help of the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, and the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity.
“Boeing is honoured once again to be lead sponsor of the British Military Tournament 2012 (BMT 2012) by which all three charities, and in effect those sailors, soldiers, airmen and their families in need, will benefit from the proceeds of the show,” said Mike Kurth, Managing Director of Boeing Defence UK.
In its third year, BMT 2012 promises to delight, amaze and entertain children of all ages through the skills and precision of the British Armed Forces in a 21st Century pageant in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Held once again in Earls Court London, BMT 2012 will feature the ever-popular and legendary Field Gun Run, reintroduce a Royal Tournament favourite, the amazing Window Ladder display and, for the first time, see the Household Calvary race the Royal Signals White Helmets.
Working together, The ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, and the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity offer aid and support to each and every member of the British Armed Forces military family.
“Their lives have fundamentally changed through their courageous service to this country,” continued Kurth. “Sponsoring the BMT 2012 is one way we can demonstrate our support. After all, they’re the reason we’re here.”
