Earlier this year, Portal analyst Toby Farrell paddled a canoe for 125 miles in the Devizies to Westminster Canoe Marathon in order to raise money for Help for Heroes. Help for Heroes provides practical assistance to wounded British service personnel returning from operations by helping them during their rehabilitation and also their families. As a result of his 30+ hour ordeal, Boeing Defence UK asked Toby to present a donation to the charity on behalf of the company. On 21 August, Toby met with Kirsty Duke, the London representative for Help for Heroes and presented a check for £5,000.
