787 pilots, technicians and cabin crew to be trained at Gatwick
Inside a 787 cockpit

Boeing Training & Flight Services (formerly Alteon), a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has plans of setting up at least six 787 training locations around the world including Gatwick Airport, London and Seattle in the USA as well as China and Japan. Additional locations will depend on fleet activity. Boeing Training & Flight Services currently have 70 full flight simulators and other state-of-the-art training devices covering multiple aircraft types in 20 locations around the world.

Boeing Training & Flight Services will be rolling out its unique points-based system for customer training on the new 787 too. Instead of receiving traditional entitlement training in Seattle, buyers of the 787 will be given points that they can redeem against any mix of flight, maintenance and cabin crew courses at any of Boeing Training & Flight Service's 787 training locations. This will reduce training-related crew downtime, travel costs and increase customer’s operational efficiency.
