Distributed Synthetic Air-Land Training
The Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training (DSALT) programme at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire provides specialist training to the Royal Air Force (RAF) and British Army 44 weeks of each year. The focus is on training front line RAF and Army personnel about to deploy to Afghanistan.
The Boeing Defence UK Facility Management Team (FMT) is responsible for day to day operation and maintenance of training systems used for planning and for delivery of training and the post exercise review.
The Air Battlespace Training Centre in which the DSALT programme is operated can be linked to a variety of simulated or live air, land or maritime assets around the world to further enhance training or Research & Development.
DSALT developed out of the UK Mission Training through Distributed Simulation, Concept Capability Demonstrator (UK MTDS CCD) 2006 – 2009. DSALT became the bridge programme to maintain that capability.
